CrossFit is a fitness training regimen based in constantly varied functional movements executed at high intensity across broad time and modal domains. Comprised of body weight, Olympic lifts and gymnastic type exercises, classes are conducted in a group setting overseen by certified coaches who train all participants in proper form and execution in a supportive, community environment.
The 5 foundation classes are designed to give anyone new to CrossFit an overall introduction to Milo and what CrossFit is. We will cover everything from how to log in for class to how to do a Squat Snatch. At the end of the 5 classes you will have an understanding and comfort level to propel you into group classes with the rest of the Milo community. All 5 foundation classes are free and available to anyone interested before signing up for a membership.
The physical demands of firefighters are such that they need to train as athletes. Fire Factory is a training regimen built on a foundation of strength and conditioning based in high intensity, functional movements. While the emphasis is fitness for the active firefighter or anyone preparing for the physical demands of a fire academy, Fire Factory is open to anyone looking for a new challenge in their fitness routine.
Classes are designed for those interested in mastering the specific discipline of Olympic style lifts. It is geared toward those who wish to compete or for anyone wanting to build a solid foundation with an emphasis on proper form.
Some people were just meant to pick up really heavy stuff. But, particularly with the demands placed on the body, these classes are designed with an emphasis not only on building pure strength but focusing on proper and effective form.
On Sunday mornings from time to time, lectures will be hosted focusing on specifics topics in healthy lifestyle transformation and fitness training, i.e., nutrition, endurance, strength, physiology, competition preparation, etc.
This class time will allow you to work on individual goals. You can participate in the OLY lifting program. You can do one of the Endurance workouts. You can spend the time on skill work, catching up on a workout you missed, or prepping for a competition. Coaches will be available to help with whatever you choose.
